The GCC national was charged with assaulting officers from Dubai police's anti-narcotics department and slapped with a Dh20,000 fine.   

Her daughter was also sentenced to 3 years in jail.

Officers had been dispatched to her home in November 2015, after an arrest warrant was issued against her son for possessing and abusing drugs and other psychotropic substances.  

The mother began screaming at the officer after he showed her the arrest warrant. 

She and her daughter punching his face, attempting to distract him so her son could run away.   

Other officers were able to apprehend the suspect. 

The Dubai Court of Appeals upheld the ruling given by the lower court.
