An Asian bus driver has died in a traffic accident with a truck in Mussafah industrial area, Abu Dhabi Police said on Sunday.

Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Abdullah Yousif Al Suwaidi,  Deputy Director of the Department of Traffic of the External Areas in Abu Dhabi Police Department of Traffic and Patrols, said that investigations showed that the driver hit the truck which was already parked.

He urged all motorists not to get distracted while driving, adding that it was the reason that led to the incident.

In a message on the Abu Dhabi Police official Instagram account, he called all drivers to pay attention on the road all the time and to leave adequate distance between vehicles to avoid accidents.

The man was taken to Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, and police cordoned off the area to ensure the safety for the other drivers.
