In a bid to protect the health and safety of office-goers and businesses in the UAE, the Department of Economic Development has released a safety document, providing WHO-mandated guidelines in six different languages. The guidelines have been published in Arabic, English, Urdu, Chinese, Farsi, and Malayalam. It said, "Dubai Economy is committed to protecting the health and safety of our customers, including business owners and consumers. Please find the recommendations of the WHO on the measures to be taken in workplaces to control the spread of the Corona virus and contain the Covid-19 emergency. Your safety is important to us." Here are the some of the guidelines you can follow in your work place:
1. Promote regular teleworking across your organization: If there is an outbreak of Covid-19 in your community the health authorities may advise people to avoid public transport and crowded places. Teleworking will help your business keep operating while your employees stay safe.
2. Clean regularly: Surfaces (desks and tables) and objects (telephones, keyboards) need to be wiped with disinfectant regularly.
3. Stay at home if someone from your community is sick: Brief your "employees, contractors and customers" that if Covid-19 starts spreading in your community anyone with even a mild cough or low-grade fever needs to stay at home.
4. Ensure facemasks or paper tissues are available at all times: Ensure that facemasks and/or paper tissues are available at your work places, for those who develop a runny nose or cough at work, along with closed bins to hygienically dispose masks and tissues.
5. Abide by travel advisories: Advise employees and contractors to comply with national travel advisories before going on business trips and avoid being in large groups.

7. Encourage repeated hand-washing: Hand sanitizer dispensers should be placed in prominent places. Provide facility for workers, contractors and clients to wash their hands with soap and water.
