Anyone caught begging inside a mosque or Eid musalla will be slapped with a Dh5,000 fine and three-month jail term.
The UAE's anti-begging Federal Law No. 4 of 2018 had been announced by the Federal National Council (FNC) last April.
Gathering donations in mosques or Eid musalla areas will also be given the same punishment.
Workers in mosques are also prohibited from collecting donations of any kind for either themselves or others.
