A driver and a woman have been charged with having sex out of wedlock in UAE. The case came to light after the driver threatened to post their sex videos online, and the woman filed a case against him.

The 33-year-old Indian driver was in a sexual relationship with his sponsor's daughter and had threatened to publish their sex clips if she tried to end their 4-year long relationship.

The driver confessed to blackmailing her - asking his sponsor's daughter to either marry him or pay him Rs3 million (approx. Dh160,558) to not disclose the affair.

The Indian woman lodged a complaint against him at Al Barsha police station, saying that the Indian driver had had sex with her against her will. She added that he had sneaked into the employer's (her father) bedroom in the morning and stolen Dh2,000 and other valuables. The woman also mentioned about him blackmailing her with the sex clips.

During police interrogation, the driver confessed to starting an affair with his employer's daughter when she was 16 years old. He said that he had been working for her father for 10 years, and that he used to transport her to school from the family residence in Jumeirah park.

The driver added that they got involved in a 'romantic relationship' and had sex with her consent.

He told the police that he started blackmailing her when she told him that she wanted to end the relationship, which angered him and and he threatened to tell her father about their relationship.

However, the accused denied the charges of theft and blackmailing in court.

The Dubai Misdemeanor Court charged both woman and driver with having consensual sex out of wedlock. The court will issue a verdict on July 28.
