
This morning, a 35-year-old driver was arrested in Ras Al Khaimah after a hit-and-run accident injured a 67-year-old Asian.
When Ras Al Khaimah Police received a report about the accident at 5.42am, they immediately formed a special task force.
Authorities from the search and traffic control department rushed to the Annaba area of the emirate. Through the emirate's smart cameras, the police were able to track down the vehicle within minutes, said Col Dr Muhammad Abdullah Al-Bahar, director of the Traffic and Patrols Department of the Ras Al Khaimah Police.
As for the victim, he was taken to a hospital after suffering serious injuries in the accident. The driver was turned over to the authorities for legal action.
Traffic rules and regulations must be followed at all times by road users in order to ensure the safety of people and property.
