To further enhance safety on the city's roads and streets, the police are preparing to introduce fully autonomous and AI-equipped vehicles. These vehicles will conduct facial scans and capture vehicle license plate information, promptly alerting authorities if necessary. Operating within community areas, these vehicles will identify individuals wanted by the police and unregistered vehicles through facial and license plate scanning linked to comprehensive systems. Additionally, the vehicles will aid in apprehending individuals who have overstayed their visas and are residing in the country illegally. The showcased vehicle, named MO2, is on display at the Dubai Police stand during the ongoing Dubai Airshow 2023 at Dubai World Central, running until Friday, November 17, 2023.

Explaining the vehicle's capabilities, a senior official at the Dubai Police stand highlighted its surveillance and reconnaissance functions. Equipped with facial and license plate recognition technology and a 360-degree camera view, the vehicle also features a motion detector. The AI-driven vehicles play a crucial role in alerting the police in case of suspicion, facilitating the deployment of additional police resources to specific locations or areas.

Manufactured in the UAE through collaboration with Micropolis Robotics, MO2 boasts an operational capacity of up to 16 hours. The Dubai Police have devoted years to developing this vehicle, aiming to ensure it operates to its maximum potential.

While the official did not provide a specific timeline, he confirmed that the rollout of these vehicles is imminent. Emphasizing the strategic deployment of these innovative vehicles, he expressed confidence that this initiative will revolutionize the patrolling system in Dubai.
