Do you plan to travel to India for Eid this long weekend to celebrate with your family? Air ticket fares from the UAE start at just Dh309, so you don't need to worry about the price of your tickets.
Popular ticketing websites have reported drastic reductions in air fares to India. Ticket prices on the same flight a month ago were double or triple what they are now.
On April 17, KT reader Fahim Amar reported that the airfare from Dubai to Mangalore was about Dh950. On MakeMyTrip.com, a ticket for the same flight now costs about Dh386.
In a similar vein, Athar Hafizka regrets booking his ticket to Mangalore early and paying nearly triple the current price. “I believed that airfare will shoot up as the vacation nears. So, I booked the ticket well in advance on March 2. But now I see the price has reduced nearly one-third to my destination,” said Athar.

The Eid holiday announcement may be confusing because of this. We are considering it to April 19, the vacation will start. Last year there was a limitation to travel but people are willing to go to India.
Many residents have vacation packages and some want to go home for Eid celebrations with their families, which may be one of the reasons for the drop in air fares, according to Libin Varghese, Sales Director at Rooh Travels and Tourism.
During peak season, we sometimes get tickets for Dh280 to Mumbai, which is a very small increase.
