
Under certain conditions, the UAE approved amendments to its citizenship law, granting Emirati citizenship and passports to investors, professionals, special talents, and their families.
In this way, the UAE hopes to recognize the talents and competencies in the Emirati community and attract more bright minds to the country, "with the aim of contributing to the country's development and prosperity".
Eligibility criteria and conditions for UAE citizenship:
1. An investor: He or she must own property in the UAE.
2. Doctor or Specialist: Must hold a doctorate in an area of scientific specialization in high demand in the UAE, and have a minimum of 10 years of relevant, published work and practical experience. It's important for him/her to be a member of an organization that is reputable in the field of specialization.
3. Scientist: Applicants must be active researchers, either at a university, a research center, or in industry. It is imperative that he/she has at least 10 years of practical experience in the same field and has contributed to it. Also required is a letter of recommendation from a UAE-based scientific institution.
4. Inventor: It is required that an inventor has at least one patent approved by the UAE's Ministry of Economy (MoE) or any other reputable international organization. This recommendation letter must also be approved by the MoE.
5. Persons who are talented and innovative: must have gained international recognition in the area of art and culture. They must also have a letter of recommendation from the government.
6. Family of the above-mentioned categories.
The following other conditions should be met for eligible candidates:
1. Taking the oath of allegiance to the UA
2. Taking an oath to adhere to UAE law
3. If you acquire or lose any other citizenship, you must inform the UAE government entity.
Note: Those who wish to retain their original citizenship are free to do so.

Nominations for Emirati citizenship are considered by the Rulers' and Crown Princes' Courts, Executive Councils, and Cabinet based on recommendations by federal entities.
