Holiday Traffic
Eng. Maitha also highlighted the traffic plan during the holiday. It aims to steer the traffic from and to Burj Khalifa district in different directions, be it from Oud Metha Street through Al Asayel Street, or through Zabeel Bridges and Happiness Street.
It also covers the use of local roads to access Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road to ease the pressure on Financial Centre Street.
To ensure smooth traffic flow, traffic signals on Financial Centre Street and Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard will be monitored and controlled to ensure maximum possible traffic flow during peak hours.
Two areas have been designated as additional parking at Al Wasl Club, and Al Jafliya (near the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs headquarters) in case the parking slots of Dubai Mall are full.
Shuttle buses will be deployed to commute riders to and from Dubai Mall and the parking areas.
Buses and Taxis
Additional taxis will be directed to the Dubai Mall during peak hours. Alternative parking lots will be provided at the parking of the GDRFA HQ and Al Wasl Club.
Shuttle buses will commute the public to and from Burj Khalifa district, and 14 signs will be installed to direct road users to the alternative parking of Dubai Mall.
In case of excessive demand for taxis at the Dubai Mall, a bus route will be opened to carry riders to Deira City Center and Burjuman Metro Stations where more taxis will be in place.
A team of high-class team of engineers and technical inspectors will be ready to fix and deal with any emergency at site during the Eid holidays in collaboration with Dubai Police and Emaar to ensure the implementation of the operational plans and required closures. The RTA wishes all a great holidays free from crashes," concluded Maitha.
