Amidst a backdrop of increasing illegal activities for quick financial gain, a surprising trend of smuggling valuable commodities such as gold, diamonds, and even rare species has come to light. Despite encountering legal consequences, individuals engaged in these illicit pursuits often return to their operations once released. Notably, Hyderabad's Shamshabad Airport has become a hotspot for gold and valuable smuggling, with customs officers regularly intercepting such attempts.

The latest incident involved a creative yet unlawful approach to smuggling - a golden saree. Recent events have revealed that customs authorities are making strides in apprehending gold smugglers at Shamshabad. These smugglers, however, have been employing ingenious methods to bypass security measures. The recent discovery exposed a substantial amount of illicit gold at the airport. A passenger arriving from Dubai was found to be carrying 416 grams of gold, valued at approximately Rs 28 lakh.

The traveler had ingeniously sprayed gold onto a saree, concealed it within a box, and attempted to pass through security unnoticed. Prompted by the passenger's suspicious behavior, customs officials detained and subsequently examined the saree, revealing the intricate gold spray. The total weight of the gold-infused saree was determined to be around 416 grams. The individual is currently in custody and undergoing interrogation by customs officials. This incident is merely one among several such cases unfolding at Shamshabad Airport.
