
It has been requested by the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) that residents use its online services to attest sick leaves and approve medical reports from special committees. According to the ministry, residents can submit applications via its website or at customer service centers to attest your sick leave certificate and medical reports. For employees whose employers require them to get their sick leave applications attested, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) offers the service for free online at www.mohap.ae.
Attestations of sick leaves and medical records of both private and governmental health facilities are available through the smart service.
This was announced on MoHAP's official social media accounts. Additionally, users can request longer medical leaves to be reviewed and approved by a medical committee.
When does a medical committee have to approve a sick leave?
On the MoHAP website, the service is intended for verifying medical reports and certificates obtained from government or private health facilities. The sick leave must be approved by a medical committee if it exceeds five days.
How much is the service fee?
Applicants will be required to pay Dh50 for the attestation of sick leave from five days to a month through the smart payment gateway on the MoHAP website.
Documents required for sick leave attestation
You will be required to provide the following documents depending on the duration of your sick leave:
For sick leave of up to five days:
1. The original sick leave certificate
2. Copy of Emirates ID
Sick leave of more than five days or a month
1. You must pay the sick leave attestation fees and submit the original sick leave certificate.
2. Copy of Emirates ID.
Sick leave of more than one month:
1. A medical committee must approve this.
2. A receipt of the paid attestation fee issued by MoHAP in the first stage.

The rules for attestation of sick leaves vary for each Emirate, according to MoHAP's website:
Medical leave requirements for Sharjah and the Northern Emirates
Sharjah and the other Northern Emirates require sick leave to be attested by the health care institution that provided the treatment.
Medical leave requirements for Dubai and Abu Dhabi
Residents of Dubai and Abu Dhabi can upload sick leave certificates issued by medical establishments to MoHAP's website through the 'Attestation of Medical Leaves and Reports' form.
The application process for the service
1. Create an account on the MoHAP website to access this service online.
2. Then click on this link: https://mohap.gov.ae/en/services/attestation-of-medical-leaves-and-reports
3. To start the service, click the 'Start Service' button and upload the necessary documents:
- A valid Emirates ID card
- Medical Report
- Sick leave issued by the healthcare center.
4. Then you need to pay AED 50 as the required amount.
What is the duration of the process?
It takes two working days to process an online application.
It will take five working days for a sick leave of more than one month to be approved by the medical committee.
