Did you know that wives living in the UAE with their husbands receive an extension of their visa for a year from the UAE government? Furthermore, the extension of the visa also applies to the children who were under the father's visa. The extension of a visa, however, is subject to certain conditions.

In this article, you will learn about the extension fees and how to apply for an extension. You can find all the information about the extension and how to apply here.

What are the conditions for extending the visa?

The UAE Government grants a divorced or widowed woman who is living in the UAE on her husband's visa an extension of one year on her residence visa, according to the official government website for the country - u.ae. This extension begins on the date of the death of her husband or the divorce. A visa of this type can only be renewed once, and no substitute sponsor is needed. Extending her visa extends to her children, as long as they were on the father's visa at the time of the woman's father's death or when her parents divorced. It is also necessary for the woman and her children to have valid visas at the time of their death or divorce.

Documents needed

Widows and divorcees are required to submit an application to Amer centers in Dubai or to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship and Ports Security (ICP) with the following documents:

1. Proof of divorce or death, depending on the case
2. Proof of house availability for the woman
3. A proof that she is able to earn a living
4. The woman and her child/children over 18 need medical fitness certificates
5. Emirates ID cards
6. Health insurance cards, depending on the region.

The process of obtaining an Extension

In order to extend a visa, the applicant must visit an immigration office and obtain a visa extension form. The case will be reviewed by immigration once the form and documents are submitted. The application will be approved if all the requirements are met, and the visa will be extended for one year.

Extension Fees:

Applicants must pay these fees along with their applications:

1. AED 100 cancellation fees per previous residency visa.

2. AED 100 for one-year residency extensions.
