The Abu Dhabi Public Prosecution has initiated legal proceedings against a mother and her son following the dissemination of a viral video on social media. The video was found to contain false information regarding an eviction supposedly resulting from a judicial ruling issued by the Abu Dhabi courts, as indicated in a statement by the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department.

According to the Public Prosecution in Abu Dhabi, the circulated video portrayed the son asserting that his mother was compelled to vacate their residence by his father's siblings. However, investigations revealed that there was a lawsuit filed by the heirs (the man and his siblings), seeking the eviction of the property. The court subsequently issued a ruling in favor of vacating the property and handing it over to the plaintiffs, a decision that was upheld before the Court of Appeal.

The authority further clarified that there was a personal status case wherein a ruling mandated the father to provide financial support to his son, amounting to Dh2,500 per month. Additionally, the court imposed an annual rent of Dh30,000 for nursery housing, starting from the date the defendant left the nursery residence.

The Public Prosecution urged residents to verify the accuracy and credibility of information before sharing videos on social media platforms.
