March 23, is the first day of Ramadan 2023, the UAE's Moonsighting Committee announced on Tuesday.
The crescent moon, which marks the start of the holy month of Ramadan, has not been sighted on Tuesday evening in the UAE. Therefore, tomorrow (Wednesday) will be the last day of the month of Sha’aban, and the holy month will begin on Thursday.
The moon-sighting committee convened after the Maghrib prayer.
Ramadan, the ninth month in the Islamic calendar, is a time when Muslims across the world fast from sunrise to sunset.
