There is a big story that is circulating on social media about overstaying on visitor/tourist visas in the United Arab Emirates. The news reported that people who overstay will be banned (abscond) from day 1 if they overstay.
Absconding case on the first day of overstay:
Social media accounts and some typing agents suggest that visitors or tourists in the UAE should renew or extend their visas before the expiration date to avoid being counted as absconders.

" Attention to all tourist visa holders in UAE, with immediate effect, overstay of even 1 day will be absconded without any notice due to immigration update, to remain legal, extend your visa or exit the country".
"Final reminder for visitors staying with expired visas, absconding has been started and whoever is overstaying more than 5 days will be blacklisted and will not be allowed to enter UAE or any GCC country. Make necessary arrangements and leave country before it's late. Note: Out pass can be applied online".
What is an absconding case for overstaying on a visit/tourist in UAE?
The absconding case is filed by visa sponsors and a fee of approximately 3000 AED is charged to register the complaint. After the absconding form is filled out, only the same sponsor can lift it for a fee of approximately 3000 AED to 4000 AED.

How to get rid of an absconding case for overstaying in the UAE?
If the absconding case is not removed, the same person will be counted as an illegal overstay or blacklisted person. He or she cannot obtain new visit or residency visas both within and outside the UAE. Get-out passes are the only way to leave the country (UAE).
New Rules for UAE Overstay Fines:
New overstay fines are implemented in the UAE for both tourists and residents. In accordance with the latest updates, the overstay fine for visit visas has been reduced by half, while the fine for residence visas has been doubled. Both visit and residence visa holders now have to pay a fine of 50 AED per day.
