Light rainfall has been reported various parts of the UAE and more is expected today, particularly in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, with cloud cover persisting across the country..

Abu Dhbai, Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Al Ain and Umm Al Quwain saw light showers early this morning.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said there will be cloudy skies on Friday and Saturday, with rain expected over the northern emirates and in the west over the weekend.

"The amount of clouds will increase over scattered areas of the country, with a chance of light rain mainly over western coasts, islands and some of the eastern area,"NCMsaid.

There will be moderate to fresh winds at times, especially over the sea and exposed areas causing blowing dust at times. The relative humidity is likely to increase by night and early morning over some coastal areas.

The sea will be  moderate to rough at times, especially with clouds activity in the Arabia Gulf and the Oman Sea.
