For the remainder of 2022, UAE residents will be able to enjoy three long breaks with their families and friends both within and outside the country.

As Eid Al Fitr, Eid Al Adha, and the UAE's National Day approach, residents will enjoy long weekends.

As part of the new weekend that began last month, these long breaks are being offered. After January 1, 2022, the UAE's workweek will be Monday through mid-Friday rather than Sunday-Thursday.

According to the Islamic calendar (or Hijri), there are as many as 30 days in a month as opposed to 31 in the Gregorian calendar. As the moon sighting varies, these dates may change.

It is expected in the UAE that Ramadan will begin on April 2 and end on May 1. Accordingly, Eid Al Fitr will begin on Monday, May 2, 2022. During the period Ramadan 29 through Shawal 3, the UAE is celebrating Eid Al Fitr. During this time, residents will receive a five-day break from Saturday, April 30, until Wednesday, May 4. Employees in the UAE have never enjoyed such a long holiday period.

Residents will receive a four-day break, however, if Ramadan lasts 29 days (Saturday, April 30, to Tuesday, May 3).

As a result of astronomical calculations, the next four-day holiday will fall from Zul Hijjah 9 to 12 between Arafah Day and Eid Al Adha. Therefore, employees in both the public and private sectors will have four days off from Friday, July 8 through Monday, July 11.

There is a chance that residents will miss their next two holidays, Islamic New Year and Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) birthday, which fall on Saturday, July 30, and Saturday, October 8, respectively.

In honor of Commemoration Day and the National Day, residents will have their last four-day break from Thursday, December 1, through Sunday, December 4, 2022.
