With the anticipation of continued rains and thunderstorms in certain regions of the UAE, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre) issued a call on Thursday for private companies to implement flexible work arrangements on Friday, November 17.
The ministry emphasized the need for companies to take necessary measures to ensure that essential outdoor work aligns with occupational health and safety requirements. Additionally, companies were urged to prioritize the health and safety of workers commuting to and from outdoor work locations, considering the prevailing weather conditions.
In response to heavy rains affecting Ras Al Khaimah, it was announced that government school classes in the emirate would be conducted remotely. Crisis management teams in the emirate were also placed on high alert.
The country's east, north, and coastal areas are expected to experience lightning, thunder, and varying intensities of rainfall over the next two days. Notably, about three weeks ago, during a 28-day spell of rain in the UAE, Mohre had similarly recommended the adoption of flexible work patterns for a day.
