The UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAICUAE) has issued a travel advisory for citizens, advising against travel to Equatorial Guinea and Tanzania due to Marburg virus outbreaks.
In a Twitter announcement, the ministry recommended postponing travel to these African countries to ensure citizens' safety.
MoFAICUAE also urged citizens currently living or visiting these nations to exercise caution and adhere to safety guidelines provided by relevant authorities.
Both Equatorial Guinea and Tanzania are grappling with Marburg virus outbreaks, a highly contagious and lethal disease akin to Ebola. The World Health Organization (WHO) reported at least nine fatalities so far.
