UAE residents can now obtain their residence visas much more easily
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA-Dubai) launched the service on Wednesday, January 11, enabling residents and non-residents to complete visa and other residency services remotely, instead of visiting customer service centers.
Now residents can complete residency-related transactions by simply getting on a video call with a government official instead of visiting a customer happiness center.
How To Apply For UAE Residency Visa Via Video Call
All customers, inside and outside the UAE, can access this service using any device that has a front-facing camera.
GDRFA is available via the Amer service number 8005111, the GDRFA website, and the mobile app. As part of this program, it offers a wide range of services, including residence visas, golden visas, financial claims, legal advice, and entry permit services.
The following services are also available via video call
Besides submitting documents, customers can also follow up on their transactions via video call. Customer can send documents through the chat box to the officer if any deficiencies occur during the application process. The officer will upload them and attach them to the application. By doing so, you no longer need to visit the administration in person.
Through this new service, people from all over the world can complete residency-related transactions in Dubai conveniently and efficiently, saving both time and effort. In rare cases, if the application cannot be completed, an officer will send a link for scheduling an appointment to visit the administration.
Several high-ranking officials attended a forum hosted by the GDRFA to announce the launch of the service, including Lieutenant General Mohammad Ahmed Al Marri, Director-General of the GDRFA, and Maj. Gen Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director General. During his explanation of the new service, Lt. Gen Al Marri explained that customers would gradually be able to complete all GDRFA services via video call.
During the coming days, the department will open its 24-hour service to the administration and implement "zero visits" for the administration. As of now, office hours are between 7:30 AM and 6 PM, during official working hours. Customers will be able to complete their transactions more easily with this new service as the government provides smarter services.
