For those residents of the UAE who intend to travel to India, these are now the guidelines to follow.

Before you travel to India

In accordance with MOHFW guidelines, you need to fulfill the following requirements before you begin your trip:

1. You need to fill out the Air Suvidha Self Declaration form. Please include a summary of your travel history and details of your COVID-19 related health. Here is the link to the form: https://www.newdelhiairport.in/airsuvidha/apho-registration

2. Upload a COVID-19 RT-PCR test report that is negative, taken within 72 hours of your flight's departure. This requirement does not include children under the age of five, who are exempt from pre and post-arrival testing.

It is also very important that passengers submit accurate health and travel information to authorities and also certify that they will adhere to any requirements post-arrival related to quarantine or self-health monitoring.

Before boarding a flight to India:

As part of COVID-19 precautions, airlines have been instructed to inform passengers of the do's and don'ts of travelling including ensuring that only asymptomatic passengers board.

Furthermore, airlines must ensure that all precautionary measures are followed during the trip.

Upon arrival in India:

Once you land at the airport, the airport health staff will require you to present your Self-Declaration form.

Thermal screening of all passengers will be conducted at airports and passengers found to be symptomatic will be sent to a medical facility as soon as possible. Upon testing positive, their contacts will be identified and managed according to protocol.

There will also be random post-arrival testing at the airport for two per cent of the total passengers on the flight. There is an exemption for children under five years of age, who are not subject to pre- and post-arrival testing.

As per the guidelines, airlines will identify these travelers, who should be from different countries.

Then they will be allowed to leave the airport once the samples have been submitted. As a precaution, if the test results are positive, patients will be isolated from other people, treated as per standard protocol, and genomic testing will be performed at an Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomics Consortium (INSACOG) lab.

After arriving, travelers will monitor their own health for 14 days.

When travelers exhibit symptoms suggestive of COVID-19, it is advised that they self-isolate immediately and obtain care at a local health facility or call the National Helpline (1075) or the State Helpline.

New guidelines were published by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) on February 10, which eliminate the requirement for a 7-day quarantine and re-testing requirements on Day 8 of arriving in India.
