Here's how you can convert your residence visa, driving licence, and Emirates ID into trusted digital documents
In Dubai, you can easily access and save digital copies of your Emirates ID, driver's license, and other government documents on your laptop and mobile device instead of having printouts.
The UAE Verify technology was introduced in January 2022 by the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA). The UAE Verify program allows government and private entities to verify documents digitally without requesting hard copies.

"UAE Verify" what is it?
As stated on the official site - uaeverify.gov.ae - UAE Verify, launched by TDRA, is a blockchain-based digital platform, which permits verification of 'Digital Trusted Documents' sourced from partnering government departments like the Ministry of Education and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP).
Due to its blockchain-based technology, the "UAE Verify" platform enables you to convert paper documents into authenticated digital documents that have the highest level of privacy and security.
Authenticated digital copies include a unique QR code, which the government entity scans to verify their authenticity.
What are the Digital Trusted Documents?
UAE ministries and authorities can issue Digital Trusted Documents that contain data digested into a 'hash' and recorded in the blockchain system. After that, ‘UAE Verify’ validates and verifies the data.
As part of every Digital Trusted Document, there is a hash, a unique digital code that verifies that the document's contents are authentic.
Who provides Digital Trusted Documents?
So far, the following government departments have partnered with UAe Verify to issue Digitized Trusted Documents.
1. Ministry of Justice
2. Ministry of Interior
3. Ministry of Education
4. Ministry of Community Development
5. Ministry of Climate Change and Environment
6. Ministry of Health and Prevention
7. General Civil Aviation Authority
8. Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security
9. Dubai Land Department
How to access a Digital Trusted Document:
The UAE Pass app is required to access a Digital Trusted Document. A single mobile application lets you do all your government work. Over 5,000 services are available in this application. Read our guide here to learn more about UAE Pass and how to create an account.

After you have downloaded the app, log into UAE Pass and select 'Add Documents'. After that, a list of government departments that have partnered with UAE Verify will appear. Select the appropriate department and then the document for which a Trusted Digital Document is required. After you submit your request, the app will handle the request for you. A notification will appear on your phone. This usually takes only a few minutes.
The documents are accessible through the 'Documents' tab in the UAE Pass app.
In addition, each document will be able to generate a QR code for verification.
In some cases, you may need to contact the government department directly. For eg., a Trusted Digital Document of a marriage certificate or a Power of Attorney can be obtained by contacting the Ministry of Justice.
Steps to verify a Digital Trusted Document:
In order to verify the authenticity, integrity, and validity of a Digital Trusted Document, the recipient can upload the document to the UAE Verify platform and obtain a verification confirmation from the official issuing authority.
To upload your document, go to the 'UAE Verify' home page: https://uaeverify.gov.ae/ clicking on the green Upload button.
Through the 'UAE Verify' platform, the Digital Trusted Document hash will be checked and verified to assure it comes from the official source and is not fraudulent.
Your document will be invalid if the certificate or record was not issued by an official government partner of UAE Verify. Similarly, if the Digital Trusted Document is found to have been tampered with, it will not be verified.
By using UAE Pass, you can also verify a Digital Trusted Document. Government entities, for example, can verify the "Digital Trusted Document" by scanning the QR code presented by the document owner via the UAE Pass app.
Types of Digital Trusted Documents:
Here are a few examples of Digital Trusted Documents that can be validated through UAE VERIFY:
1. Passport
2. Emirates ID Card
3. Residence Visa
4. Driving license
5. Police clearance certificate
6. Vehicle license
7. COVID-19 Vaccination Card
8. Marriage Certificate
9. Academic Qualification Attestation
Note: Printing your Digital Trusted Document will not be recommended. According to 'UAE Verify', printing will discard all of the advanced protections designed to keep the certificate secure. This prevents it from being verified."
