An integrated tourist visa for the Gulf Cooperation Council nations has received approval and may be introduced as soon as the coming year, according to a UAE minister. The procedure for implementing this visa will be deliberated next month, as reported by the state news agency Wam, which cited Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, the Minister of Economy.
As previously noted by Khaleej Times, this transformative visa, akin to the Schengen visa, was ratified during a meeting of GCC ministers held in Muscat. With this single visa, tourists will have the opportunity to explore all six member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council – the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, and Kuwait.
Al Marri informed Wam that the visa is anticipated to be introduced in either 2024 or 2025, contingent upon the finalization of the implementation regulations.
