Shreeju, an Indian expatriate employed as a technician in Fujairah, is still grappling with the reality of suddenly having a substantial Dh20 million to his name.
“I ask myself: Am I still a millionaire? I am still in disbelief," expressed Shreeju, a control room technician at an oil and gas firm. Despite holding the life-changing Mahzooz cheque, he has no intention of resigning from his job.
“I will be continuing with my job, and I have no plans to quit any time soon," he stated, revealing that his manager is unaware of his winnings.
Having participated in the Mahzooz draw for the past three years, Shreeju typically chooses numbers randomly. “I do not have any specific numbers in mind. This time, I selected four numbers as the previous draw and just changed two numbers,” he explained.
Residing in the UAE for the last 11 years, Shreeju had long aspired to own a house. “I decided to buy a house by taking a bank loan. But now with this winning amount, I can build a massive bungalow,” he remarked.
The news of his win came to Shreeju on a Sunday morning. “Prior to this, I have matched one digit and three digits. I thought it was the same this time. But when I opened the mail, it was Dh20 million. I don’t know why I can't still believe it,” shared Shreeju, whose wife is also finding it hard to believe.
