The highway was recently opened to cut down travel time.
A newly opened key UAE highway will be partially closed for maintenance work, police issued a notice on Monday.

According to a brief statement posted by Sharjah police on social media, one road on the newly opened Sharjah-Khor Fakkan road will be temporarily closed for maintenance work.

The road will be closed from the first tunnel (Al Saqb) until the fourth tunnel (Al Ghazeer) going towards Sharjah.
The police added that the road will be closed from July 23 (Tuesday) until August 5 (Monday).

The police urged all motorists to drive with caution and take alternative routes.
