Some institutions are "manipulating" Emiratisation figures and jeopardising the country’s stability in the process, the Deputy Prime Minister has said.

Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, also Minister of Presidential Affairs, said a "new way of thinking is required, as well as a new vision" for the long-running policy, state news agency Wam reported.

The minister was speaking at a meeting to implement a new government plan set out by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, this month.

Sheikh Mansour also said there is a need to "stop the chaos" on social media platforms.

We must plan for the future with full transparency

The notice was revealed in the first government meeting of the ‘Letter of the New Season’ committee at the headquarters of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs in Abu Dhabi.

On August 31, Sheikh Mohammed set out six 'new season' principles for government officials to abide by, including how ministers should be in the field and not sitting through conferences and how complaints from the public must be addressed, not avoided.

Sheikh Mansour's committee will begin implementing the directives of Sheikh Mohammed and making his plans a reality. September is seen as the start of the 'new season' for government work and business after the long summer break.

“The letter of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed came at the right time, reflecting the pulse of the community,” Sheikh Mansour was quoted by Wam as saying.

“The UAE has succeeded because its leaders are connected to reality and understand the needs of the people.

“We have accomplished significant achievements that we must protect, and we must plan for the future with full transparency."

Greater scrutiny will be ruled over institutions manipulating Emiratisation figures viewed to be jeopardising the country’s security and stability

The agenda of the committee's first meeting included its working plan for its first 100 days, the adoption of its key drivers, formation of sub-committees and the identification of their objectives and tasks.

Sheikh Mansour also said there will be a clearer direction in the UAE economic vision for the future.

"We need to know the status of key development projects in the country over the next decade, and I am against the repetition of projects,” he said.

The four key goals he set out in a 100-day plan was fieldwork and communicating the people, the media, Emiratisation and new future development ideas.
