The emirate is set for Eid rush.
The abattoirs in Ras Al Khaimah are all set for the Eid Al Adha rush, announced the RAK Municipality.
 
"The central abattoir in Filaya, Al Ghail abattoir, and the RAK abattoir will be open for receiving sacrificial animals on the day of Arafa from 5am to 10pm for 17 consecutive hours," informed sources told Khaleej Times.
 
The three abattoirs will remain open during the Eid from 6am to 10pm, they added.
 
"Air-conditioned tents have been installed to receive the customers. Cold water and juices will be served during the waiting time.
 
A second slaughtering line has been started at the Filaya central abattoir to double the slaughtering capacity, according to the sources.
 
Brochures will be distributed among people to educate them about perfect sacrificial animals. "They will also be educated about the best way to transport, preserve and deal with cooked and uncooked carcass.
 
"Competent cadres of vets, technicians, butchers, and administrative staff will be available at the abattoirs and livestock markets round the clock. They will help examine all the sacrificial animals before, during and after the slaughtering process to ensure that they are sound and fit for human consumption."
