Dubai is a popular holiday destination for travelers from all over the world. There are luxurious hotels, world-famous shopping malls, and gourmet dining places here. This emirate provides an excellent example of how modernization can coexist with tradition and heritage. This emirate is a pleasure to visit. Dubai is either the cheapest city to travel to or the most expensive, and you still end up falling short. In Dubai you can travel in style in a limousine and spend over 500AED per ride, or go for the cheapest ride for 1AED per person. This article shows how you can lower your overall trip cost in Dubai.
Everything depends on planning. It's that simple.
An overview of a few tips you might find useful.
1. Do not book the cheap package offered by a travel company, which guarantees visas, accommodations, and travel. You most likely will end up staying at a shabby hotel in Sharjah or an even more awful one in Burdubai. The entire experience will be awful.
2. Choose the right time to visit Dubai. A vacation during peak tourist season would mean that everything would be more expensive - from hotel rooms to air tickets
3. When booking local attractions, book at least two to three weeks in advance. Deals will be more favorable this way
4. Try to use public transportation whenever possible. You can take NOL cards (Dubai transport cards).
5. Staying downtown is not recommended. However, staying near the outskirts is also not recommended. In Old Dubai, Deira, Muteena, and other spots close to the metro, you'll find affordable accommodations at a convenient location.
6. You should avoid eating at fancy restaurants on Sheikh Zayed Road. For foodies, Dubai is a paradise. You can find top-quality food for AED 30 as well as AED 3000. Since the municipality checks are pretty strict in Dubai, cheap food does not equal bad food.
7. Jaywalking, littering or abusive behavior will result in fines from the civilian-dressed policemen. Your wallet would suffer for it!
8. Consider shopping at cheaper malls and outlets. Usually, malls like Dubai malls charge a lot for their stores. You should avoid shopping from there if at all possible.
9. The information should be sufficient to plan your trip. It does take a lot of planning. However, there are many great things to do in Dubai if everything is planned well. Everyone will find something to enjoy.
